Some Levity to Combat a Rough Few Weeks

OK--let's face it.  There are times when digging down deep to exhume your deepest musings or just pondering the intricacies of your own DIVERGENT (yes, I am really excited) thinking is simply too much for a week that will, no doubt, seem surreal due to (pick one...) stress, athletics, prom probs, Calc, boys, girls, pets...
In other words, sometimes we just need a break.

In the spirit of that, let's try for one of those Facebook-type survey thingamabobs. They are easy, breezy beautiful-type questions--the ones that are simply meant to have you think about..well...YOU. But, not in that deep, dark mystery-solving way we usually do

The trick is, you will have to copy and paste the entire thing into a word doc, and then change your answers to reflect your individual responses. Then paste it back into the posting dialogue box.

Read a few of your classmates and find some things about them--and possibly yourself--that you may otherwise not have known. The list below contain my answers in their entirety.

    1. I honestly thought I was the only one who watched My Strange Addictions. There's something about people's weird fascinations/ obsessions that interest me to where I can watch that show for hours. Granted, it does have its drawbacks because honestly, some of their addictions are just plain gross and disturbing. I don't know if you've watched this episode, but the one man who legitimately fell in love with a Mannequin was so disturbing I think I had nightmares. It's really cool reading some of these responses because you get to know little things about others that you would have never guessed!

    1. David, as I have figured out before we have a few things in common such as our t.v shows I watch each one of those and they happen to entertain me greatly minus the Spanish one because well I don't even know Spanish. I also thought the justice emails were amusing because my sister is obsessed with the store and tries to receive these discounts or something.

    1. I can't believe I forgot to put food network on the list of shows I watch! I don't normally watch TV because I watch everything on On Demand (which is still TV but not really). Whenever I do decide to watch a program that isn't already recorded, you'll most definitely find me on channel 839 (for all my Xfinity people) drooling at the scrumptious food that I could never make. I also liked how the places you wanted to visit were all mostly in Europe. One of the top things on my bucket list is to go back-packing in Europe one day.

    2. Emily, after reading about the food network I had to refrain from doing one of my little, stupid dances. The show Chopped is pure genius; I love it! I also like the fact that you said that you have lived within your imagination (very adorable). Sushi is also great and by that I mean California rolls and spicy tuna rolls (some are spicier than others and I don't appreciate that. Each restaurant needs to come to an agreement on how spicy they are going to make it). Keep watching the food network and maybe one day the two of us will be able to complete on Chopped!

    4. I am dying emotionally right now. I put Finland on my list, too. I wish that we could just move there, so we don't have to deal with so much homework anymore. School is so close to being over, but not close enough. Taty, you, and I could still transfer...probably. Agh. I just don't want to deal with stress from school anymore.

Favorite quote (Bunje already quoted the Hitchhiker’s Guide, which is one of my favorite books... so I’ll quote an equally great and funny book):

    “"You mean there's a catch?”
"Sure there's a catch", Doc Daneeka replied. "Catch-22. Anyone who wants to get out of combat duty isn't really crazy."
There was only one catch and that was Catch-22, which specified that a concern for one's own safety in the face of dangers that were real and immediate was the process of a rational mind. Orr was crazy and could be grounded. All he had to do was ask; and as soon as he did, he would no longer be crazy and would have to fly more missions. Orr would be crazy to fly more missions and sane if he didn't, but if he was sane, he had to fly them. If he flew them, he was crazy and didn't have to; but if he didn't want to, he was sane and had to. Yossarian was moved very deeply by the absolute simplicity of this clause of Catch-22 and let out a respectful whistle.”
    - Catch-22, by Joseph Heller
(If you didn’t know where the phrase Catch 22 comes from, now you do! Now if only I could quote the whole book.)

    2. Bry, I hadn't the slightest idea that pickles were one of your favorite foods! I used to love pickles, but I haven't had any in a while. Just like you, I too am looking forward to summer 2014 because I'll be driving by then. The only difference between this though is that you will be getting your license and I will just be receiving my permit (that's what I get for procrastinating). I also have a question, what is a breakfast sandwich? Is it just a sandwich with eggs in it or is there more to it? Anyway, I really found your choices to be extremely interesting!

    1. From what I've read so far, you and I have the most similar taste in foods. I'm pretty much what you would call an "un-healthy eater." I choose taste over health any day. Plus, you probably already know that I'm obsessed with ice cream and I could eat it all day without fail. As for what you're looking forward to this year, I hope you have fun at the One Direction concert. Being a fellow fanatic myself, I can't wait for the show either! You'll have so much fun and make sure you bring a box of tissues for your tears because Harry Styles will surely make you cry till you can't cry anymore. I remember my first One Direction concert... I was at Radio City Music Hall and I vaguely (I'm lying, I remember that night like it was yesterday) remember screaming at the top of my lungs and asking my friend Anna, "IS THIS REAL LIFE?!" With that being said, I hope you have a wonderful year and I hope that you get enjoy everything you look forward to doing!

I also find it quite entertaining that Christian Mingle is emailing you; it makes me think of Mr. Linter from freshmen year. I also agree with your choice of 21 Jump Street as being a favorite movie. Dave Franco and Channing Tatum are so gorgeous! Just like in your response, I am noticing that a lot of people are looking forward to the end of junior year. I'm trying to hold onto these moments for as long as possible; I'm ambivalent about growing up and eventually leaving home.

    1. Thank me for showing you that quote because it is pure gold. It just speaks to me on an emotional level. How could someone who talks like an angel and walks like a model still manage to look like a buffalo? The world will never know.

    1. I loved How I Met Your Mother, but then I stopped watching it when the next season was missing from Netflix, and I never bothered to look for the rest of it. I spent so many hours watching SEVEN seasons of a show that I didn't bother to finish. I want to know how he met his wife! Gosh darnit.
